The Bible in 2Timothy 2:15 counsels, “Study to show yourself approved unto God” Scripture here places a strong emphasis on the word “study” to differentiate it from mere reading. For the Christian who desires to live a life pleasing to God, “studying” has never been an option. It is a matter of obedience. A diligent study of God’s Word remains an effective way to gain God’s approval. 

The secular world places no premium on ignorance. Neither does God.
